Marine life around Baška: what divers can meet
Octopus, moray eels, scorpionfish, gorgonians and nudibranchs: what divers can meet at the dive sites around Baška and the island of Prvić.
By the Squatina Diving team
Right off the dive center lies the protected underwater area around the island of Prvić, with about 50 varied dive sites. Every site has its own residents. No animal is guaranteed, but here is what divers often see.
At the house reef Kricin
Octopus and moray eels are seen often at Kricin, our house reef, and seahorses occasionally.

Corals and gorgonians
At Fratri, a solitary rock formation on the north side of Prvić, you find scorpionfish and corals in many colours and shapes. The highlight is the huge azure-blue gorgonians, as big as a cartwheel. At Samonin, on the east side, blue, red, purple and black corals and sponges are everywhere.

Tiny creatures: nudibranchs
The Bracol site is known for nudibranchs, sea slugs in unusual shapes and colours. They are only a few centimetres long, so go slowly and look closely.

Lobsters
At Lobster Point on the south side of Prvić, steep deep walls are home to large lobsters.
