Our team
Norbert Szywala
Dive instructor & co-owner
Norbert is an experienced and passionate dive instructor and the proud owner of the Squatina Dive Center. With years of diving across Europe, he brings deep expertise, a good sense of humour and a strong commitment to safety and quality to every course.
His dives have taken him from the lively Mediterranean waters of Malta and Croatia to historic wrecks in Germany, France and Poland, and the demanding cold waters of Britain. That variety makes him a great companion for divers of every level.
Known for his friendly, approachable teaching style, Norbert makes sure every dive is safe and unforgettable. Thanks to him, Squatina is not just a place to learn, but a place where you fall in love with diving.
Regina Szarek
Co-owner
Regina is the driving force behind the scenes at Squatina. A gifted organiser and true master of the office, she brings structure to everyday life along with plenty of energy and joy.
She is a certified diver, but also a ski instructor and sailor – her love of water and mountains shapes an active lifestyle. With her lively personality she makes sure every guest feels welcome and well looked after.
Whether she is organising dive trips, planning the day or telling stories from her adventures, Regina's enthusiasm is contagious.
Dario
Our captain
A weather analyst and language talent, Dario is always in a good mood and always has a good line ready. He makes sure our boat trips are safe, because he knows every wave in Baška and knows how to handle it.
With almost 30 years in the diving business, he looks after our guests on board with humour and heart, and enriches the short boat rides to the dive sites around Prvić and Krk with stories and local knowledge.
Qualifications: skipper, Croatian diving pioneer.
Our dive center
Our modern 200 m² base sits right on the beach in Baška, in the south of the island of Krk. Everything is within comfortable walking distance: accommodation, cafés, restaurants and the promenade.

Small groups, personal teaching
All our courses are organised individually and in very small groups, often with just 1–3 students. The content is tailored to your personal needs, so you develop as well as possible and have the most fun. We do not believe in mass training in big groups – we prefer personal attention for the best learning results.
